We explore the world of Jazz, specifically New Orleans Jazz and we find out all about this wonderful music from a musician who is an absolute machine on the trumpet, a teacher, a songwriter and international touring artist.

Cameron has been working as a performer and instrumental music teacher since graduating from USQ in 2002 where he majored in Trumpet performance.

Cameron grew up playing in a wide variety of community ensembles and this has lead to a love of collaborating and performing different styles of music from jazz combos to professional symphony ond musical orchestras.
Cameron’s’ 1st love however is the music of New Orleans and regularly performs and writes music in the trad jazz and second line styles.

As a performer Cameron has toured nationally and internationally playing festivals as diverse as the Woodford Folk Festival, Edinburgh Fringe and Wuxi festival in China. Other tour highlights include Black Mountain Unplugged in Far North Qld and the UB Jazz club in Ulaan Bataar Mongolia.

Currently Cameron is based in Lismore, working for the Northern Rivers Conservatorium of Music, teaching brass and woodwind and conducting school bands. Cameron performs regularly with Trad Jazz and originals band The Magnificence which e formed with his Brother Lachi in 2017, Afrobeat band Timbuktu and New Orleans Brass Band The Broken Levee Brass Band.
